Special Equipment for Oversize & Sensitive Cargo

When goods exceed the dimensions or tonnage limits of standard containers — or need conditions a standard container can't provide — special equipment becomes essential. At CALL, we have the expertise and equipment to transport oversized, overweight, and temperature-sensitive cargo safely, whichever of the following categories it falls into.

In Gauge Cargo

Shipments whose dimensions are smaller than or equal to those of flat rack or open-top containers. They require special equipment but do not displace additional slots on the vessel.

Examples: machinery or large trees that can be lowered into an open-top container.

Out of Gauge Cargo

Cargo that exceeds the dimensions of flat rack or open-top containers in length, width, or height — but can still be unitized within containers.

Examples: propellers, flanges, or trucks.

Break Bulk Cargo

Cargo that vastly exceeds the size and weight of a standard container. It's handled as non-unitized cargo, typically placed on a bed of flat racks with numerous lashing points.

Examples: yachts, masts, industrial machines, or train carriages.

Reefer Containers

Refrigerated containers built to maintain a precise temperature range throughout transit, protecting cargo that would spoil or degrade in a standard container.

Examples: perishable foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals, and other temperature-sensitive goods.
